Ever since Ryan Reynolds uploaded the video announcing Hugh Jackman’s comeback as Wolverine, and the duo debuting in the MCU together, the fans are in a frenzy. Not just fans, rumors too. Though the actor had claimed that the return would only be a one-time thing, reports have been around that claim otherwise, many stating that Marvel won’t let go of such a beloved actor so easily.
Apart from that, Marvel fans have been waiting for the comeback of other major actors including Robert Downey Jr. and Tobey Maguire. Downey Jr. was last seen in Avengers: Endgame where he sacrificed himself to save the universe. And Tobey Maguire had an extended cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home where he teamed up with Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland to fix all Spider-Man villains. With some new reports claiming Jackman will be part of Avengers: Secret Wars, have fans rallying for a team-up of the three.
Hugh Jackman reportedly returning for Secret Wars
A recent tweet by an industry insider, that goes by the username @MyTimeToShineHello on Twitter, shared an update, that it has been confirmed that Hugh Jackman will be joining the cast of Avengers: Secret Wars. It also claimed that he’ll be playing a major role in the movie. The actor had initially hung his boots as Wolverine after the “swansong” Logan, but now with his return for Deadpool 3. It seems that he is here to stay at least till the end of the Multiverse saga that began with Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
These claims have further led to more speculations about the major Avengers event that would happen in Secret Wars. Ever since Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, announced the movie, there have been multiple speculations and fan theories. Now, with the news that the movie will reportedly include our favorite mutant, the fans definitely cannot keep calm.
Fans rally for a team up
With the multiverse being explored in the MCU, anything is possible. After the Fox Studio merger with Disney, many Marvel characters including X-Men that were originally with Fox, came home. This has led to finally welcoming characters like Deadpool and Wolverine into the main universe. And the Mutliversal concept allows that to happen without causing many changes or the trouble of reintroducing already set characters.
After the news of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine being a part of Secret Wars hit the internet, fans were delighted and started demanding a team-up between Jackman and two other legacy actors, Robert Downey Jr. and Tobey Maguire.
