When the bush fire happened, the filmmaker was working on his project, Cry Macho which was a neo-Western drama film that was based on late N. Richard Nash’s 1975 novel of the same name.

Starring as a lead star in the film, he sets on a journey to bring a man’s young son home and away from his alcoholic mom. Despite their hard work, the film was unable to impress the viewers which underperformed at the box office grossing $16 million. It received mixed reviews from film critics however it was praised for its visuals and score.

While the Gran Torino star’s acting drew polarized responses, a source close to him shared with RadarOnline how his absence in Hollywood for a while has concerned many around him.

“Clint has always enjoyed great health and been vital and active despite his advancing age, but the fact that he hasn’t been around as much lately has a lot of people in Hollywood worried about him.”

His appearance in the project was his last work to date but he has no plans to take a step back from his glorious career. He will keep on coming up with projects for his audience.

As for Cry Macho, it is available on HBO Max.
