Fan-Favourite Game Mode Set to Make Huge Comeback in Upcoming Modern Warfare 3

The original Modern Warfare 3 is undeniably one of the most beloved games in the Call of Duty franchise. Of course, developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision realized that the Modern Warfare name sells, so MW officially got rebooted in 2019. Both the reboot and the sequel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, proved to be huge back-to-back commercial successes, which has inevitably led to a third game in the high-selling rebooted series.

With rumors involving the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 internal alpha recently making their way online, a series of new leaks have emerged. Apparently, Twitter user BobNetworkUK has somehow gotten screenshots of the game’s alpha. The development of the sequel is now in the hands of Sledgehammer Games instead of Infinity Ward, and it seems like the developer is actually listening to players’ complaints regarding Modern Warfare 2, fixing the major issues for the anticipated sequel.

According to Bob, the classic mini map is set to make a comeback in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Additionally, he also claims that the Ninja Perk will also be returning to the game. Moreover, players will get to use perks, but this time around, they will be referred to as “gear.”

Each different gear set will serve as an alternative to different perks. An example of the gear system in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 would be boots. While you can get the “Marathon” perk by wearing one set of boots, a different set can provide you with the “Ninja” perk.

However, the leaked Call of Duty 2023 detail that caught the majority of the players’ attention goes back to 2017’s Call of Duty: World War 2. Aside from the perks and the OG mini-map, it seems like the beloved War mode from Call of Duty: WW2 is making its due comeback in Modern Warfare 3. It isn’t really a surprise that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 looks very similar, design-wise, to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. In fact, the game wasn’t even originally supposed to be its own thing and was actually going to be DLC for MW2 for a while. But the Modern Warfare title is enough for huge sales, which is why we are getting the threequel later this year in five months.

The rumored features mentioned above have been taken from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 internal alpha. Therefore, like with all leaked information, we suggest taking the news with a pinch of salt, as the final product may contain completely changed elements. There are also leaked reports about some classic Call of Duty maps returning to the game as well.

For now, these rumored updates about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 seem too good to be true, but that’s not stopping Call of Duty fans from getting excited about the anticipated threequel.
