When Ronnie Coleman appeared in The Joe Rogan Experience, the podcaster showed his admiration for the 8-time Mr. Olympia winner. Joe Rogan was quick to acknowledge how he redefined the game after the days of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Frank Columbu.

The UFC commentator spoke about how prime Coleman’s physique looked like it was invented to kill the Hulk in Marvel Comics.

“I was said you looked like a dude they invented in Marvel comic book to kill the Hulk. That’s what you looked like when you were in your prime man.”

As the conversation explored the various achievements of the former bodybuilder, The King agreed to it- “I felt like I probably could too, back in those days”. It was evident that Joe Rogan was both impressed and astonished by the physique of the Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award winner. Ronnie Coleman also added that back in his Prime era, everybody was superb and the competition was very tough.

“We were pretty tough back in the day. Everything was tough back then. The guys I was competing with were really good. I just came out of nowhere. I got into bodybuilding late.”

The bodybuilder initially didn’t have any plans regarding the sport and was a police officer. But history was created after another officer suggested him to explore this option at the age of 24 and presently, there’s hardly any enthusiast of the sport that doesn’t know Ronnie Coleman. He gained prominence after winning his first Mr. Texas title in 1990.

There are many fans who are frequently seen comparing the two bodybuilders for their feats and achievements. But it is to be noted that Arnold Schwarzenegger hailed from the initial days than Coleman’s.

After The King posted a photo on his social media sharing the same stage with his idol and the legend Arnold Schwarzenegger, a clear contrast could be seen between the two. While Coleman possessed a more massive look with the muscles, the Terminator fame was leaner and cut. One of the major differences was the lower body of the athletes as the Louisiana-born bodybuilder possessed massive legs.

But it is to be noted that it was largely due to the difference of the eras- Arnold Schwarzenegger came from the Golden Era while Ronnie Coleman popularized the mass monster era. The latter also called the Predator actor the greatest bodybuilder of all time while receiving the Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.
