Superman has always been a significant figure in the DC Universe which was last portrayed by Henry Cavill starting from 2013’s Man of Steel. Zack Snyder’s directorial was a reboot of the Superman franchise which delighted the fans’ hearts since The Witcher actor left no stone unturned to completely dedicate himself to the role.

Given that his exit from the franchise is also kicking off the new era of Superman in the franchise, Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has brought back an iconic moment that is strikingly similar to the 2013 film.

An X (formerly Twitter) user uploaded a snap combining the picture of Cavill’s chiseled physique from the Zack Snyder movie with Momoa’s new film.

Without a doubt, Snyder fans couldn’t help but gush over the similar frame with which original DCEU actors shared a moment. Another commented on how both the sequences could have been completed by presenting their theory for the moment when Cavill’s Clark Kent stole the clothes in his standalone film.

One fan pointed out a hilarious connection between both pictures.

Under the direction of James Wan, Aquaman 2 is bringing back characters from the 2018 movie including Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Nicole Kidman. With the last film of the original DCEU awaiting its arrival in theatres, fans are concerned whether the Atlantis superhero would make his place in the new DC Universe.

As the Fast X actor is positive about the character’s involvement in the franchise’s future, Wan has also confirmed that the superhero has undergone alterations to fit into the new universe. However, the franchise’s future to link the new universe to its past remains a question as the new slate has already been announced with major changes observed.

Aquaman 2 is set to release on December 20, 2023.
