Vanessa Kirby could join the Fantastic Four MCU ensemble for the role of Sue Storm, often known as the Invisible Woman. The Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning actor isn’t the only one Marvel Studios is considering for the part, though.
Due to Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the Fantastic Four will finally enter the MCU after several years of badly regarded cinematic versions. The cast of the Fantastic Four is undoubtedly the most pressing concern for MCU fans, but answers may be forthcoming sooner rather than later.
Vanessa Kirby as Fantastic Four’s Sue Storm?
The highly anticipated Fantastic Four movie from the MCU now has a new rival in the casting rumors. There is reason to be skeptical, but a recent rumor suggests that Vanessa Kirby might replace Margot Robbie as the top contender for the role of Sue Storm/Invisible Woman. Additionally, according to the rumor, Kirby was the actor, the director had always sought for the part:
Prior to showcasing her action movie chops in films like Mission: Impossible – Fallout and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Vanessa Kirby made her debut in The Crown as Princess Margaret. Kirby is a perfect candidate to play Sue Storm, and she would excel in the role. This rumor, however, strongly contradicts earlier reports that Margot Robbie had been courted for the Fantastic Four part.
Early rumors suggested Margot Robbie was up for the same role
Recent rumors claimed that Margot Robbie had not yet accepted or rejected the offer to play Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four. Maybe those rumors were genuine, and Robbie made the decision she didn’t want to commit to a character she would probably have to play for many years. She already dabbled in the world of comic book films as Harley Quinn at DC, so it’s plausible that she has grown weary of the larger-than-life comic book films.
However, it’s also possible that Vanessa Kirby was always the preferred candidate and that the Margot Robbie rumors were untrue after all. The Fantastic Four cast is likely to remain a secret for as long as possible thanks to Marvel, thus our best bet at this casting situation will likely continue to be rumors. The other team members are the subject of many rumors as well.
Given that the release date for Fantastic Four is February 14, 2025, we could have some time to wait. The movie will be directed by Matt Shakman, while Josh Friedman has reworked Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer’s original script. As Phase Six of the MCU is expected to begin with this movie, it will surely be a crucial component.
