Fast and Furious star Michelle Rodriguez considers the future beyond the popular action movie franchise. The actress has been portraying the role of Letty since its first launch in 2001.
Rodriguez will be reprising her role in Fast X, along with other original and new cast members, including Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Rita Moreno, Cardi B, Helen Mirren, Jason Momoa, Charlize Theron, and Brie Larson. The movie is scheduled for release on May 2023.
Fast X is the penultimate film of the Fast and Furious series. Fast & Furious 11 will mark the end of the two-decade long action story.
Michelle Rodriguez Talks About The Future Of The Fast And Furious Saga
Despite the news of only having two movies left to anticipate, Rodriguez gives a message about the future of the franchise. In her interview with Deadline at the San Diego Comic-Con, Rodriguez said that they will have to “pass the baton” to the younger ones.
“At some point, we’re going to have to pass the baton on to the younger generation. Don’t worry, we’re popping out kids! It’ll happen.”
While the mention of the kids is likely a joke, Ludacris also made a similar statement about the future of the series. The actor hopes that the franchise will “live on forever.”
Fans can only hope that the remaining Fast and Furious movies will make a great ending. It seems likely that the Fast X and Fast & Furious 11 will be the end of Dominic Toretto’s story. With this thought, the studio can create a spinoff with new characters and arcs, like the Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.
According to Gibson, Fast X will stay true to its roots. In however manner they would exactly pull that is now the mystery that will unfold once the film hits theaters. It is good news, though, for the loyal fans of the franchise who have been following the series for two decades.
