Robert Downey Jr is starring in the upcoming mini-television series, The Sympathiser, based on an award-winning book of the same name by Viet Thanh Nguyen. The series is an espionage thriller where we follow a communist spy during the last days of the Vietnam War and his exile from the United States. Downey was recently spotted on the set of this film, and the actor looked completely unrecognizable.
The actor was seen with a receding hairline, thin ginger curls, and eyebrows as well as blue contact lenses. He was also seen wearing a pink shirt, a burgundy jacket, and a pair of blue trousers. The actor also shocked his fans when he showed up to the 13th Governors Awards with his head completely shaved for this role.
Fans React To Robert Downey Jr’s New Look For The Sympathiser
When Robert Downey Jr’s transformation for The Sympathiser hit the internet, fans were quick to go onto Twitter and express their opinions and thoughts about it. Some were making fun of the actor, stating that he looked goofy and odd, adding that they hope that this transformation is for a film otherwise, someone would have to tell the stars that he does not look good with a shaved head.
Some, however, gave quite a positive reaction, stating that they would defend the star regardless of whether or not he had hair on his head.
