Starting with the 1977 film Star Wars, George Lucas created a whole universe that has spanned multiple media platforms over the years. Along with the franchise, its characters have also grown to have a massive catalog. And one such character also includes Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka. Introduced as a 14-year-old knight in the 2008 animated film Clone Wars, she has had several appearances over the years.
Followed by her appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, she has now landed her first solo live-action series, which is just months away from its release. However, fans fear that the series might not be as good as expected, after a comment made by the lead star of the show.
Rosario Dawson Calls Ahsoka the Fifth Season of Rebels
Rosario Dawson is set to star as the title character in the upcoming Star Wars miniseries Ahsoka. Developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, the series is part of several spin-offs announced by Lucasfilm in 2020. The series is just months away from its release, and a statement from its leading star has put fans in a conflict.
Talking about the upcoming series, the Trance actress shared suggested that Ahsoka could most likely be the fifth season of Rebels. “I’m pretty sure Dave said that this is basically like the fifth season of Rebels,” she said.
Dawson further shared that if it’s true, it would like a “continuation with these people she’s got such a rich history with.” She also mentions how at the end of Rebels, Ahsoka is seen in a white cloak with a mysterious staff while explaining that her character will explore herself in her solo feature.
However, fans do not seem too pleased with the idea of combining Ahsoka’s story with Rebels, as they believe that it will repeat the same mishap as the 2021 series The Book of Boba Fett.
Star Wars Fans Do Not Want Another The Book of Boba Fett
While fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of Rosaria Dawson starrer Ahsoka, the actress’ statement has left the fans in conflict. She has said that the miniseries could also be the fifth season of the animated show Rebels.
This has led fans to concern if this might be the case, Ahsoka could turn out the same as the 2021 series The Book of Boba Fett. Starring Temuera Morrison as the lead, the series was highly criticized for focusing more on the side characters and cameos other than the lead of the show.
Fans are concerned that the same could be followed up with Ahsoka and have said, “A show about Ahsoka should be about Ahsoka.” They also stated the makers should not bring in more characters only to fill up the storyline. Fans also shared that if the makers want another season of Rebels.
Ahsoka is set to release on 23 August 2023 on Disney+,
