The latest installment in the Expendables franchise, EXPEND4BLES, is all set to release on 22 September 2023. The first trailer of the movie was recently dropped and the fans are hyped up for it. Fans are finally getting a new Expendables movie after nine long years with some fresh faces.

The first 45 seconds of the trailer may look familiar as it reminds some people of the fight scene between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005). In the scene, Megan Fox‘s character, who is new to the franchise, gets into a friendly fight with Lee (Jason Statham) and then it cuts to Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) knocking on Lee’s door to tell him that he needs his help with a “situation.

Everyone knows about the friendly rivalry between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. When Schwarzenegger first appeared in Expendables (2010), the fans went wild. Over the years, Schwarzenegger returned to the franchise as Trent “Trench” Mauser, however, this time he is not returning. In an interview with Parade, Schwarzenegger said,

“It’s done, and I’m not in it. I said, ‘You know what, we have done this, and I’m out of it’ and [Stallone] really understood. I did [The Expendables] as a favor to Sly. I shot it on a Saturday for two hours quickly in a church with Bruce Willis. Sly said, ‘Oh, can you do Expendables 2?’ and I did that for a weekend. Then it was expanded for Expendables 3. And that was it. We’re going to do something together one day.”

Schwarzenegger may not be a part of the movie but Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture are joined by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran and Andy Garcia.

Expend4bles will hit the theatres on 22nd September 2023.
