Quentin Tarantino almost lived up to his ten movies goal, and each one of them was a masterpiece. From nonlinear plots, and sharp dialogues, to electric soundtracks, the legendary director is known for the pervasive use of profanity in his movies. While there are a lot of s-xed-up characters in some of his classics, like Daryl Hannah (Ellie Driver) in his production house’s Kill Bill series, his movies are usually devoid of steamy s-x scenes.
Tarantino revealed in an interview that he doesn’t like shooting s-x scenes, and he’s got all sorts of reasons that one can buy. The Pulp Fiction director believes that such scenes are non-essential and problematic, and definitely do not fit in his vision of cinema. Despite this, Tarantino has continued to provide us with censorship-free stories that have connected with people on so many levels.
Quentin Tarantino Feels S-x Scenes Are “Problematic” & “Non-Essential”
Quentin Tarantino is one director whom the world will never forget, courtesy of his non-linear storylines, filled with uber-violence and profanity. While the Django Unchained director has continued to give us one hit after the other, he revealed in an interview that he doesn’t really require s-x scenes in his movies.
Even though the director counts the Kill Bill series as one, technically, he’s working on his tenth movie, reportedly called The Movie Critic. During the promotion of his recent book, Tarantino revealed that he does not like to shoot s*x scenes and finds them “problematic” and “non-essential” to the kinds of films he makes. He said:
“It’s true, s*x is not part of my vision of cinema. And the truth is that, in real life, it’s a drag to shoot s*x scenes, everyone is very tense. And if it was already a bit problematic to do it before, it’s even more so now.”
In the end, Tarantino proudly declared that he’s always had the freedom from censorship or restrictions on his projects. He said he was lucky enough to write stories that connected with many people, and allowed him to practice his art without the restrictions that most filmmakers have.
Quentin Tarantino Isn’t Bothered By Critics!
Over the years, Quentin Tarantino has made hits like, Django Unchained, Pup Fiction, Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Kill Bill: Volume 2, and the recent, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. The director decided to make only ten films in his career, with the upcoming project being his last one.
There may not be any s-x scenes in his movies, except for the occasional s-xual characters, but his hits are filled with profanity and uber-violence. During a previous interview with Chris Wallace, Tarantino admitted that he doesn’t pay much attention to critics.
When asked by Wallace, “So when people say, ‘Well there’s too much violence in his movies. He uses the N-word too often.’ You say what?” Tarantino gave a classic response, “You should see [something else], Then see something else.”
He also added, “If you have a problem with my movies then they aren’t the movies to go see. Apparently, I’m not making them for you.” Tarantino is presently working on his last film, called The Movie Critic, and the plot is kept under wraps.
