And with two installments already being made in the series, it’s no question just how much the series is well-received by the audience. With the introduction of Hounsou’s Man on the Island character in the second part of the series, people were excited about a new face that will be joining the ranks of the protagonists. But much to everyone’s dismay, his character is supposedly killed off when an alien that was washed ashore on the Island drags him away. Originally, this part was supposed to be played by Eternals star Brian Tyree Henry.
The first choice by the executives was to audition Tyree Henry for the role of Man on the Island, but due to conflicting schedules between this film and his MCU film, he had to pick one, which was Eternals at the end. Therefore, the film was in search of a replacement. Their search finally came to an end when Hounsou, who played the role of Korath in Guardians of The Galaxy as well as Captain Marvel, agreed to join the film for this role.
