Angelina Jolie announces new fashion line for assisting refugees
Hollywood megastar Angelina Jolie often gives a glimpse of her warm heart with her actions to help people in any way possible. She has been working tirelessly for refugees for the last few years and was actively associated with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. To extend further assistance, the Original Sin star announced her fashion line, Atelier Jolie.
It will allow the customers to work with the tailor and the artisan from all over the world to design their unique creations. Her aim is also to keep certain fabrics out of landfills. She said,
“I am building a place for creative people to collaborate with a skilled and diverse family of expert tailors, patternmakers, and artisans from around the world. A place to have fun. To create your own designs with freedom. To discover yourself.”
The actress shared that the venture would include a varied group comprising traditional artisans, refugees, and numerous other under-represented people.
She added,
“We hope to create a community of creativity and inspiration, regardless of socioeconomic background.”
Talking in detail, Jolie said that they would use only deadstock and leftover material, which would allow customers to upcycle items of clothing, that would otherwise end up in landfills.
“We can all collect, appreciate, and be influenced by the designs of others. But the highest form of self-expression – and I believe the most fun – is to create for ourselves.”
Jolie’s new venture, Atelier Jolie, will be launched this autumn.
Jolie stepped down from her role with the UN in December 2022. She said in a statement that she was interested in working in a different way with refugees and other humanitarian organizations.
