Over the past few years, actress Emma Stone has witnessed a sharp rise in her popularity. The actress was widely praised for her portrayal of Mia Dolan, an aspiring actress, in the musical film La La Land (2016). The actress is well-known for her remarkable acting skills and charming on-screen presence. One of her most iconic roles came in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man. She played the role of Gwen Stacy in the movie and even reprised her role in the sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014).

Her character, unfortunately, met with a tragic end in the second movie. As per sources, she was offered a role in the MCU later, however, she turned it down because she had other plans.

Back when Marvel was planning out 2015’s Ant-Man, actress Emma Stone was offered to play the role of Hope Van Dyne. Many actresses were shortlisted for the role and Stone simply turned it down because she was not interested in doing a superhero movie again.

Evangeline Lilly was finally selected for the role and Hope Van Dyne went on to become a crucial character in the storyline. Lilly played the role in Ant-Man (2015), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023).

In 2012, director Marc Webb gave the world a reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. In the movie, actor Andrew Garfield played Peter Parker / Spider-Man and Emma Stone played Gwen Stacy, his primary love interest. The absence of Mary Jane created a lot of rifts online but ultimately, the two movies, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, performed well at the global box office.

A third movie was planned as well, however, it was canceled due to the controversial Sony Hack of 2014. Stone’s journey ended at the end of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as her character tragically passes away.

Stone was reportedly offered to play the role of Barbara Minerva / Cheetah in 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984. Since it was again the superhero genre, Stone decided to turn it down.

The actress has showcased her talent in various movie genres like drama, comedy, and musical genres. With her film debut in 2007’s Superbad, Stone quickly rose to fame as one of Hollywood’s most talented and versatile actresses.
