The celebrity’s wife, Emma Heming Willis, along with Bruce Willis’ ex-wife, Demi Moore, and his 5 daughters have openly discussed his illness while also providing information about the actor’s progress. Emma Heming Willis in particular has been active on social media giving regular updates on The Sixth Sense star. But her interactions have also garnered some negative responses from people.
Emma Hemming Willis defends her “five minutes of fame”
Despite exuding positivity over Bruce Willis’s serious diagnosis, Emma Hemming Willis has received criticism on social media. According to certain sections, the model-turned-actor was using her husband’s health condition to gain popularity and recognition for herself. The Perfect Stranger star took to Instagram and in no uncertain terms stated that,
“I just saw something about me getting my five minutes which is great. Which means that you’re listening. So I’m going to take my five minutes and I’m gonna turn it into 10, because I’m always going to advocate for my husband”
The actor went on to add that her primary goal was to raise awareness about FTD to benefit others who may be going through similar health-related issues. She ended the message by thanking all caregivers for their efforts while also sending out a warning to her detractors with the words,
“I am going to turn my grief, and my anger, and my sadness and do something good, around something that feels less than. So watch this space, because I didn’t come to play”
The Willis Family is a united one
Despite criticisms being hurled at Emma Heming Willis and the family, the former model has always maintained that she and Bruce Willis’ ex-wife Demi Moore share an extremely friendly relationship with their children. This is evident from many of their pictures online that show the whole family gathered together to support the actor. Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter Scout Davis also took to Instagram to comment on the Perfume star’s powerful message to her trolls and haters and said,
“HELL YES! I am so so proud of you!”
Last month, Emma Heming Willis shared that Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, nearly a year after announcing that the actor was struggling with aphasia, a condition that affects communication. This led to the star retiring from his acting career permanently. It now remains to be seen if the Jackal actor could make a decent recovery with all the medical advancements in place today.
