The relationship between Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley has been unique throughout the years. Priscilla Presley said they might have been happier if they had not gotten married, despite being together at the height of his fame.
During her interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, she stated: “To be honest, I think we were better not married.” Priscilla Presley admitted that Elvis was the “love of her life,” and also confessed they “had a great relationship.”
In 1968, Priscilla Presley gave birth to their first and only child, Lisa Marie Presley, who was born nine months after their wedding.
Reflecting on their marriage, she told Piers Morgan: “He would come over to my home all hours of the night, talk, it could be two o’clock, three o’clock.”
“I would have my daughter awake, my daughter up with us some of that time.”
Priscilla Presley said that she and Elvis Presley remained close even after their divorce was finalized in 1973. “We never lost our friendship.”
Priscilla Presley revealed they still “cared for each other“, despite no longer being together.
“He would come to the house in the middle of the night even when he was dating other women. And I still went to Graceland.”
To keep her happy and entertained, he would bring things to her, she told.
“He would bring books and read them to me at two in the morning while Lisa was sleeping,” she said.
The Real Reason Elvis Presley And Priscilla Presley Divorced
Despite the fact that Priscilla Presley calls Elvis Presley “the love of her life,” she understood at the age of 27 that she had to end their marriage. Even though Priscilla Presley had been in a relationship with the King of Rock and Roll for more than a decade, she needed to experience life on her own.

“My life was his life,” She told People magazine in 1978. “My problems were secondary.”
To keep their bond strong, they would also make sure to spend time together. However, their marriage had a few problems that led to their divorce. These included Elvis Presley’s worrisome behavioral changes, his dependence on Priscilla Presley, and his increasing prescription drug usage.
The couple enjoyed an amicable relationship and shared custody of Lisa Marie after their divorce.
Elvis Presley continued to remain “in love” and “so close” to his ex-wife Priscilla Presley, surprising her with “cute” late-night phone calls and visits that she dearly treasured.
