Hines’ time speaking with Vandal is mainly about Starfield, Bethesda’s next open-world action-RPG set in outer space. Hines talks about how fans love Bethesda games for the many possibilities for choice and aspects of the gameplay, without spoiling too much. He closed the interview by confirming The Elder Scrolls VI is not in pre-production, but in the early stages of development. How early of stages was not specified, but Bethesda is moving forward with The Elder Scrolls VI.

When was The Elder Scrolls VI Announced?

Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI were announced on the same day in 2018 on June 10. The Starfield announcement trailer has nearly 4 million views but The Elder Scrolls VI trailer has over 17 million views. A bit of an unfair comparison as Starfield is a new IP and The Elder Scrolls VI is part of a franchise that started in 1994.

However, the views show the sheer weight The Elder Scrolls series has on the gaming industry. Fans are very excited to see The Elder Scrolls VI. It’s been over five years since this announcement trailer dropped, with a scrolling landscape and The Elder Scrolls VI logo fading onto the screen. Now that we know it’s in the early stages of development, fans can comfortably wait for when Bethesda is ready to reveal more of The Elder Scrolls VI.

Bethesda is well known for its huge open-world action-RPG games. With The Elder Scrolls VI, fans are eagerly awaiting this sequel.
