However, the stars are strictly against crash diet or any other form of diet. Chan opened up on diet and workout that has helped the actor stay fit over the decades.
Jackie Chan is against going on diets
In an interview with Access Hollywood, the action star was asked about his nutrition and how he has remained fit over the years.
Jackie Chan, who is known for his healthy eating, replied,
“I eat everything, if I ate ice cream or steak, okay, 20 more minute run and steak, ok, 100 punches. When I ate ice cream, okay, 20 minutes. Eat everything you want, training is most important.”
He also shared that he does not believe in diets as you need to build muscles. He said,
“On a diet, it’s not healthy, you lost, you’re not gonna train, you are going to lose your muscle. You need food, you need training.”
In another conversation with The Things, the actors talked in detail about his food consumption,
“I believe that if you enjoy every moment of your life, accept yourself, and stay young at heart, then you will naturally be healthy.”
The Foreigner actor shared that he is mindful of the foods that he consumes,
“I really don’t have a special diet—I eat everything. Of course, I’m watching not to eat things that are too oily. Mostly I eat vegetables and once or twice a week I’ll eat ice cream, but mostly I just stop myself from eating too much junk food.”
The actor also shared that he has never been on a diet in his career.
Jackie Chan is consistent with his workout routine
The Karate Kid actor shared in the interview with The Things about his workout routine. He talked about the importance of exercising to stay in shape for his movies. Chan is one of the greatest action stars in the industry, and he prefers to work out every day.
Chan shared,
“I still go to the gym every day and run for an hour.”
“I can’t get too big. I have to stay slim so I can move. A lot of jogging and walking every day is good for the health and heart.”
Jackie Chan also shared that proper rest plays a huge part in finding energy. The actor prefers to take power naps throughout the day.
At the age of 69, the actor is full of energy and kicking. Chan wishes to stay fit and energetic for his entire life. With his strong mindset and work ethic, he will surely achieve it.
