There’s good and bad news for Baldur’s Gate 3 fans. The good news is that the release times for the game were recently revealed by the developer. The bad news is that unlike many new games with early access features, this one will not let you transfer your saves to the fully finished game when it does come out.
This latest development regarding Baldur’s Gate 3 was announced just one week before the PC version of the long-awaited video game is due to be released.

Latest Updates on Baldur’s Gate 3
Baldur’s Gate 3 is easily one of the most anticipated games of the year, and fans have been looking forward to its release for a while now. The developer of the ambitious RPG, Larian Studios, recently provided more updates regarding the game’s release and early access.
The early access for Baldur’s Gate 3 was released a while back in 2020, and three long years later, the full game is finally coming out on August 3, albeit only on PC. But the latest update from Larian did not come without a painful catch. In addition to the release times of the game, the developer confirmed that the early access saves cannot be transferred to the full version of the RPG.
Revealing the news on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 Twitter account, Larian Studios claimed that in the final version of the game, a lot has “changed” from the early access version, and it’s “worth it to start fresh!” Check out the official announcement tweet by the developer:

Official Release Times for Baldur’s Gate 3
Although the PC version of Baldur’s Gate 3 comes out in less than a week, Larian Studios still has not announced any kinds of early unlocks for the game, even with its collector’s edition. In another tweet, the developer revealed the global times for the official PC launch of the game, according to various time zones all across the world:
- 8 AM PT on August 3
- 11 AM ET on August 3
- 4 PM BST on August 3
- 1 AM AET on August 4
- 3 AM NZST on August 4
Larian Studios got a bit creative with the Twitter announcement about the global release times for Baldur’s Gate 3. The tweet started off with “It’s almost time” and featured a cool map with different time zones on top of it.
Additionally, the PS5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3 was initially supposed to come out in late August, but now it has been delayed and will be released on September 6 instead. It can’t just be a coincidence that September 6 is also the date on which Starfield arrives on the Xbox Series X/S and PC. Larian Studios still hasn’t announced a release window for their game on Microsoft’s consoles because of some unfortunate development issues.
More specifically, this is due to the split-screen feature, which, according to Larian Studios, is an essential aspect of the game and is causing problems on the Xbox Series S. While we wait just a little longer for the PC and PS5 versions of the game, have you been playing the RPG’s early access? Are you excited to finally get your hands on the full game?
