It has since made it among the highest-grossing franchises of all time, with a combined box office collection of over $7 billion. And after making it big at the box office, it has done the same on the streaming giant Netflix.

The Dwayne Johnson Starrer Makes It to Netflix’s Top 10

Earlier this month, the streaming giant Netflix added a number of new movies along with multiple films from the Fast and Furious film series. And fans of the series can now enjoy the first five films from the franchise on Netflix.

And seems like fans have taken this opportunity to catch up with the initial films from the Fast and Furious movie series, including Dwayne Johnson’s debut as Luke Hobbs in Fast Five. The wrestler-turned-actor joined the series with the fifth installment, which is still considered one of the best films in the action-adventure film series.

As Fast Five introduced a new concept for the series, shifting its focus from street racing to heists, it has continued growing. It has now made it to Netflix’s Top 10 just a week after its release on the streaming platform along with the Vin Diesel starrer The Fast and the Furious.

According to Comicbook, Fast Five has taken the fifth spot, and The Fast and the Furious has taken the ninth spot among Netflix’s Top 10. Although the Black Adam star has been away from the franchise for the last two films, he is expected to reprise his character in the upcoming Fast X sequel.

Fast Five Introduced a Fresh Storyline For the Franchise

The Fast and Furious franchise has been ongoing for over two decades, with the most recent addition being Fast X. While the series started with the 2001 film The Fast and the Furious, its turning point came a decade later with the fifth installment under the action-adventure series.

Taking a break from the street racing concept, Fast Five introduced a fresh storyline as they introduced some new and brought back some of the already existing characters from the series. One such character also included Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs.

The movie went on to gross $626 million at the box office and is also considered the beginning of its journey to becoming one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood. The Rock’s attachment to the project was also considered to be one of the reasons behind its success.
