But It was Dwayne Johnson who went laughing all the way to the bank at the end of the film. According to reports, The Rock was paid a whopping 20 million dollars to appear in the film The Fast and The Furious: Hobbs and Shaw. In contrast, Jason Statham and Idris Elba who were also part of the movie and bonafide stars in their own right earned 13 million and 8 million respectively.
The staggering amount offered to Johnson was still not the highest that a star earned for the year 2019. According to Variety’s roundup of salaries, Ryan Reynolds whose Netflix film 6 Underground was released the same year, made 27 million dollars in the film.
