Charlize Theron has been ruling millions of hearts for years, and one of them also includes one of the biggest podcasters, Joe Rogan, who is known for discussing almost everything on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. Theron is no doubt one of the best actresses at the time who has given several incredible performances on the screen and also has several accolades to her name, including an Oscar for her 2003 film Monsters. Patty Jenkins’ 2003 crime drama follows Aileen Wuornos, who starts robbing and killing her clients after getting into prostitution.
Theron has been highly praised for her work in the movie and even won an Academy Award for Best Actress. This was also the performance that led the JRE host to speak highly of the 47-year-old Hollywood star.
Jow Rogan Stunned By Charlize Theron’s Performance
Joe Rogan sat down with the novelist Mark Greaney on his podcast as the duo discussed several topics before eventually coming on to the performance of Charlize Theron in the 2003 crime drama Monster. And he made it clear that he was highly impressed with her work in the movie. The JRE host said,
“Charlize Theron’s like that. In monster oh my god when she played Aileen Wuornos. She’s so fuckin hot. She’s hot as the sun and she gets fat and shaves her eyebrows off, and she looks like this psycho.”
To portray the character of Aileen Wuornos in the 2003 film, Theron had to gain 30 pounds. She said that she wanted to transform herself into the character as she found it “more extreme.” Rogan also spoke highly of her commitment to the role and not going for alternatives to adapt the role completely.
“Oh my god, that’s not even prosthetics. You did that to your body? That’s insane,” he said as he expressed his amazement toward the actress. Both Rogan and Greaney also went on to discuss how the actress nailed her performance as they talked about different actors’ physical transformations.
Joe Rogan Impressed With Charlize Theron’s Transformation
Joe Rogan and his guest, Mark Greaney, also talked about Charlize Theron’s commitment to her role as she went through a physical transformation. He shared that she took the risk despite being one of the top actresses in the industry and despite being aware of the consequences it could have on her body.
“And also for a woman, who’s a gorgeous woman, who’s like this A-list actress to do that to her body. And you know probably hard to bounce back from that too. I mean, look at her ….dude she f*****g nailed it.”
He also shared what leads actors to go through such body transformations. He went on to explain how it was a lot different for the actress, as it was not in accordance with her reputation in the industry, unlike Christian Bale, who would have been “a different human being” if cast in the same role.
Monster is available on Peacock.
