Sophia Loren mentioned how Marlon Brando tried to touch her inappropriately during the filming of their movie. The Sunflower actress wrote about Brando groping her in her memoir Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow: My Life, which was published in 1963. While describing the incident, Loren wrote in her memoir,

“All of a sudden, he put his hands on me. I turned in all tranquillity and blew in his face, like a cat stroked the wrong way and said, ‘Don’t you ever dare to do that again. Never again!’”

She further added,

“As I pulverized him with my eyes, he seemed small, defenseless, almost a victim of his own notoriety. He never did it again, but it was very difficult working with him after that.”

Loren’s statement in her memoir caused much debate. Brando and Loren collaborated closely on the film A Countess from Hong Kong. Grant was another actor who was romantically interested in Loren, but it was a one-sided love.

Many people admired Loren and Grant’s on-screen romance. Loren and Grant collaborated for the first time in the 1957 picture The Pride and the Passion. The late actor was 30 years Loren’s older, and he was so taken with the 88-year-old actress that he wanted Loren to leave her partner for him.

Loren was in a relationship with Carlo Ponti who later became her husband in 1966. Grant was with his third wife when he was trying to lure Loren. The late actor used to send the 88-year-old actress flowers and letters. As per reports he wrote in the letter,

“You’ll be in my prayers. If you think and pray with me, for the same thing and purpose, all will be right and life will be good. Forgive me, dear girl. I press you too much. Pray – and so will I – until next week. Goodbye, Sophia. Cary.”
