Is photo mode included in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘s base game? If I don’t buy the Digital Deluxe Edition, will I be able to take cool photos? Yes, you can take photos in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as the mode is available to all players, regardless of the version purchased.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 took the stage at Summer Games Fest. Insomniac Games, the developers of the game, brought out Bryan Intihar, Senior Creative Director, to share concept art, the box art, details about the story (Venom is not Eddie Brock), and a release date of October 20th. After the event, the PlayStation Blog posted an article formally announcing the release date alongside the Digital Deluxe Edition and the Collector’s Edition. Fans are talking about the 19-inch Collector’s Edition statue and the 10 Digital Deluxe Edition suits being locked behind the paywall. However, one of the sleeper talking points after these announcements is the photo mode.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – The Significance of Photo Mode
Photo mode has been a huge component in recent PlayStation titles such as The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima. Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales both take advantage of photo mode. Insomniac Games’ Twitter account shares photos fans do on occasion. This confusion on photo mode being locked behind the higher priced editions started on Twitter shortly after the PlayStation Blog post released. Community Director, James Stevenson, took to Twitter to clarify the photo mode situation.
Aaron Jason Espinoza, Advanced Senior Community Manager, clarified it one step further by tweeting to mass audiences about photo mode.
Even though the 10 Spider-Men skins are locked behind the Digital Deluxe Edition, photo mode is available to all players. Everyone has the opportunity to take photos in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Pre-orders for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are now available on the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Direct, and retail outlets. The PlayStation 5 exclusive is set to launch on October 20th at $69.99/£69.99. What version of the game will you be picking up? Is the Collector’s Edition statue worth the price? Let us know in the comments!
