For many players, exploring the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 has been their primary objective since day one, but for many, there are some battles and events within the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 that can easily be missed. When looking for this optional battle, players will have to progress to the point in the main story quest for Act 1, which asks them to travel to the Goblin Camp and take out their three leaders. This is only the beginning, as there are numerous different ways to take out these leaders but to gain access to this optional battle the players will have to talk to one of the leaders which is a Drow Paladin named Minthara.

As stated, there are multiple ways to deal with this leader, but to receive the optional battle in all its glory, many players will want to start a conversation with Minthara and lure her out of the Goblin camp in some way. This can be done either by becoming her ally and joining her in an assault against The Grove which is a location we are supposed to protect, or players can pretend to be her ally and stab her in the back.

Once Minthara has been convinced you’re an ally whether your lying or not, she will begin an all-out siege of The Grove, which begins the optional battle as the player will witness a full frontal assault made by the Goblin forces. This includes them attacking the gates and even having orcs throw Goblins at the barricade walls in an attempt to invade The Grove, depending on what choices the adventurer has made this battle could go either way, but it is an impressive battle to say the least.

Within Baldur’s Gate 3, there aren’t many battles that can create the atmosphere that there is a total blown war going on, but with this optional battle, the stakes are high; your choices could mean life or death for certain characters. It is an incredibly cinematic battle that has players wondering how it will all end and depending on what choices your character has made till this point it could be the difference between a victory for good or evil.

This battle is very easily missed and is something that requires that the players use their wits against the enemy so that they get the outcome they desire by the end of it. Still, once the battle ensues and players see the scale of the battle, and what is at stake, it creates such an atmosphere that many players will be looking for within Baldur’s Gate 3.

Are you going to be keeping an eye out for this specific optional battle in your playthrough? Or did you make a different choice in your story and just kill all of the leaders? Let us know in the comments what you think and did!
