Quentin Tarantino has been giving one blockbuster after another, making fans even more eager as to what his next movie might be, however, it might be his last movie ever as the director wants to retire after his 10th project. His world-building, storytelling, and filmmaking have been appreciated and awarded, being much deserved with the works like Kill Bill, Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood and Django Unchained.
Although, with the current range in cinema, Tarantino feels as if he has lost touch with the modern era of filmmaking and fears that he might not be able to catch up to them. By this, he wants to retire before his works become behind time.
Quentin Tarantino Wants To Retire After His Tenth Project
In an interview with CNN, Quentin Tarantino revealed how he might just retire after his next movie the fear of falling behind the modern stride of cinematography. He states that his films already feel out of time and could easily become outdated rather quickly.
“I’ve been doing it for 30 years, and it’s time to wrap up the show… I don’t want to become this old man who’s out of touch when already I’m feeling a bit like an old man out of touch when it comes to the current movies that are out right now. And that’s what happens.”
With a career of over thirty years, the director does not want his movies to become bad and wants to retire during his prime. He even conveyed that if he had the opportunity, a ten-film-goal would be his desire before he retired. This, rightfully so, is not something the fans would ever want to see. Every movie that he has presented to the world has become iconic and with it, his name too became just as iconic.
What Could Quentin Tarantino’s Final Movie Be?
Quentin Tarantino had long since stated that his final movie would perhaps someday be the third installment of Kill Bill with Uma Thurman’s daughter, Maya Hawke starring. He also expressed how he would even enjoy making a Western-themed movie, much like Django Unchained.
He did as well, even if a little doubtfully stating that he wouldn’t mind making a movie for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although his views on superhero movies are similar to that of Martin Scorsese, he would have liked to see his own version of comic book heroes come to life some day.
