Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s divorce was a tedious task. The infamous defamation case was a result almost 5 years after the divorce, but back in 2016, the couple had sustained irreversible damage from the other.
As per reports, Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard’s divorce was so messy that Disney had to hire a person to alert the production when the Edward Scissorhands actor would wake up. The shooting of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was delayed for the ugly divorce and the tardiness of the Sleepy Hollow actor.
Johnny Depp Was Kept Under Watch By Disney Assistant
When the divorce was originally petitioned by Amber Heard, Johnny Depp was heavily involved in the shooting of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The original trilogy by Gore Verbinski was a massive success, while the fourth part managed to perform average in theaters. Hoping to pull through, Disney wanted to make another part of the franchise that would finally retain the magic of the original movies.
Amber Heard had filed the petition back in 2016, due to which Johnny Depp had severe problems to be involved in shooting of his movies. A YouTube video revealed an astonishing fact that Disney hired an assistant producer to keep watch on the Alice in Wonderland actor.
“The movie was made when Johnny Depp and his wife Amber Heard were going through a contentious divorce. His constant tardiness affected the schedule to the point where the set frequently came to a stop for hours.”
The video continued stating Disney’s solution to the problem, which involved a production assistant guarding the Cry-Baby actor’s door!
“It grew so bad that a production assistant was employed solely to stand outside of Depp’s home and herald his awakening when they noticed the lights inside turned on!”
As much as Disney tried to save the franchise from drowning, the movie managed to get an average rating of 6.5/10 on IMDB and a whopping low of 30% on Rotten Tomatoes. Johnny Depp was once again involved in the production of Pirates of the Caribbean 6, but was removed when Amber Heard allegedly accused Depp of domestic violence and physical abuse.
When Hollywood Allegedly Blacklisted Johnny Depp
Following the defamation case that made the headlines, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s professional lives were severely impacted. According to several insiders, Hollywood had allegedly blacklisted the Fantastic Beasts actor as he was deemed “not redeemable”!
The Sweeny Todd actor took to the east as Europe found much more interest in the actor. Starring as King Louis XV in the upcoming French drama film, Depp will be seen in theaters once again. The film called Jeanne du Barry (alias La Favorite) will be released theatrically in France in 2023. As per their deal, Netflix will be the exclusive streaming partner of the movie 15 months after its theatrical release. As for the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Depp would not return to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow. Following Johnny Depp’s departure, there had been multiple talks and various rumors of a reboot or another hero taking the lead, but none have yet been confirmed.
