Director Andy Muschietti Ready To Do The Flash Sequel With Ezra Miller Under 1 Condition

With insane audience approval, The Flash marked its first grand premiere on Tuesday’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The movie, featuring Ezra Miller as the titular character, Michael Keaton, and Ben Affleck in their versions of Batman, and Sasha Calle as Superwoman was received with such overwhelming enthusiasm that people are already saying it might be the best superhero movie ever.

However, it should be mentioned that the version they got to watch was unfinished. As a result, the excitement among fans has piled up, even more, to see just what the final version looks like this June. In light of the celebration, the movie’s director Andy Muschietti was asked about his plans for the franchise’s future, and his answer, interestingly has sparked a surge of hope in fans.

Andy Muschietti’s condition for The Flash sequel

In a conversation with Collider, Muschietti revealed that he is completely open to the idea of setting a course for a second movie. However, it will depend on one condition Warner Bros. has presented to them a source claimed.

That is, The Flash will have to meet the box office expectations the production company has placed on it. Muschietti kind of confirmed this saying, “We didn’t talk about it [during production]. I think that we’re all waiting to see how this movie does.”

Andy Muschietti also added, that as an extension the future of the movie might also rest on James Gunn’s shoulders. As the director is completely rebooting the DCEU in the phase he termed, Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, it will be ultimately his decision whether The Flash ever sees a sequel to what is inarguably turning out to be a masterpiece. As Andy Muschietti noted,

“There’s an architecture in DC that is brewing and it’s being created. And the question is, will this new architecture absorb this story?”

However, he also claimed that there’s a good thing about the multiverse, a concept this movie will introduce to the DC audience, “multiverse allows all of these different worlds to coexist and interact, and so, hopefully, yes, I mean, we don’t know yet. That’s the truth.”

Well given James Gunn‘s extreme enthusiasm about the movie before it even premiered anywhere, where he claimed The Flash as, “probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made,” this hope just might come to fruition soon.

Although, he pressed that it will ultimately depend on, “if this movie is successful.” Thankfully, after the CinemaCon on Tuesday, it would be safe to say that it will not only be successful but might just over exceed the box office predictions.

Andy Muschietti’s The Flash wins hearts at CinemaCon

Andy Muschietti, after months, came out with his stance on Ezra Miller claiming, that they are the best actor he has ever worked with. In fact, Mary Harron too, spoke along similar lines at last year’s TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) praising Miller to death. As a result, it seems that when it comes to The Flash star, Muschietti is more than ready to go on another journey with them.

Given how people ended up bawling by the end of the movie according to reports, it seems that such a partnership might be worth exploring in the future as well. Interestingly, a source claimed last year that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom‘s screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick is already hard at work with the drafts for a second movie.

As a result, if the box office predictions do turn out favorable, it might not be too late before fans could witness another one of Barry Allen’s big-screen adventures at their will. It will all will be revealed in June when the movie hits the theaters what exactly makes the best superhero movie of all time? This is something fans are waiting with bated breath to experience themselves.

The Flash is out in theaters on June 16th, 2023.
