Following Ezra Miller’s violent outbursts over the years, speculations of the actor getting axed from The Flash roared through the internet. However, the project went ahead and even the review embargo simply kept going. On a recent note, fans’ excitement seems to have amplified which brings high hope for the movie to earn an estimation of $140M, initially at the domestic box office.
The Review Embargo Appears Lifted For The Flash
Despite The Flash being a highly anticipated movie for the DC fanatics, Ezra Miller‘s Hollywood PR disaster appeared wrecking the movie’s reviews. Charged with strings of assaults and trespassing over the years, Miller was ultimately accused of harassing a family and brandishing a gun in front of a kid.
Following the volatile behavior of the actor, who plays super-powered speedster Barry Allen aka Flash, rumors of them getting axed from the movie, spread like wildfire. However, the speculations were proven wrong when DC went on with Miller starring as Flash.
Further, with the actor’s confirmed appearance in the movie, netizens embarked on a journey of canceling The Flash and perpetuating negative reviews. However, as the trailer launched, the review embargo seemed lifted and positive reactions started flooding. After CinemaCon attendees witnessed an early screening of the film, they began tweeting out enthusiastic reviews.
With the initial reviews already showering praise, despite Miller’s controversial appearance, the movie is claimed to position itself for the title of the greatest superhero film ever made.
The Flash Expects $140M At Domestic Box-office Opening
Soaring with great reviews, The Flash is also expected to perform well at the box office. Thus throwing light upon the box office anticipation, Box Office Pro released the projection for Warner Bros’ The Flash. Addressing the potential success that is expected of the film, the projections indicate an estimation of $140M in earnings during the domestic box office opening weekend.
With a total box office expectation ranging from $280M to $375M, the movie is deemed to perform well despite the controversies surrounding it. With the projections of the movie performing well at the box office, one can also expect it to surpass the DC’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
Although DC had some major failures like that of Shazam: Fury of the Gods and Black Adam, The Flash is expected to perform otherwise during the domestic opening. Irrespective of the fact that Ezra Miller’s movie’s performance is dominated by several aspects, the film overall garnered positive responses.
Igniting the nostalgic element by bringing in Michael Keaton as Batman, the movie played well with the emotional aspect and created an intriguing plot. Thus, despite the potential challenges surrounding Ezra Miller’s legal issues, The Flash is expected to impact its viewers in a positive way.
