With each passing day, as Bruce Willis continues to battle the fetters of dementia, the threat of the disease looms larger than life among him and his family. But the retired Hollywood icon’s friends and family have been his rock throughout his diagnosis, extending unrelenting support and doing all that they can to keep him comfortable.
Even Demi Moore, Willis’ ex-wife, who he got divorced from due to “irreconcilable differences,” has been by his side, resolute to go the extra mile and help the Die Hard star out in any and every way that she possibly can. And Emma Heming Willis couldn’t be more thankful to Moore for being such a pillar of strength.
Bruce Willis’ Wife is Incredibly Grateful to Demi Moore
Back in the spring of 2022, Bruce Willis‘ family announced his retirement from the film industry after the Armageddon star was diagnosed with aphasia. Unfortunately enough, the 68-year-old’s condition worsened, transpiring into frontotemporal dementia in February this year. So the past few months have naturally been a tempest of apprehension and worry for Willis’ family. But Demi Moore, his ex-wife who he split up with after 13 years of marriage, has been a “lifesaver” for Willis and his family, thanks to her incessant moral support and devotion toward her ex-husband’s betterment.
Sources claim that Moore has proven to be an anchor of hope in these times of despair to not just Willis but even his current wife, Emma Heming Willis, who is beholden to the G.I. Jane actress for everything that she’s been doing. “Emma is grateful to have Demi around,” the insider stated, remarking that Moore, 60, is like a beacon of light for them as they traverse this dark journey.
With the Pulp Fiction star’s incurable condition deteriorating over time, it’s been “incredibly difficult” for his 44-year-old wife to look after him as well as their daughters whilst simultaneously managing her own grief. “So Demi isn’t stepping on her toes. Demi is actually a lifesaver,” the insider said.
Demi Moore: the Backbone of the Willis Family
Moore married the Primetime Emmy winner back in 1987 and shares three daughters with him – Rumer, 34, Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 29. While the Indecent Proposal actress parted ways from Willis in 2000, the two co-parented their children and even managed to arrive on amicable terms after their divorce.
Now, after all these years, as Willis fights his illness, Moore has made it her mission to be by her ex-husband’s side, serving as a buttress against such harsh times for not just him but even Emma and her young daughters. “Demi has stepped in,” the source told Radar Online, “to make sure every holiday, birthday, and get-together is as celebratory as possible,” as the family braces themselves to bid farewell to the Unbreakable actor. “This past Easter and Christmas may have been Bruce’s last.”
The Charlie’s Angels actress has been adamant about ensuring that Willis’ daughters get to spend as many memorable moments with their father as they can. She even threw him “a special 68th birthday celebration” last month, “determined to do anything” to make sure that Willis’ last moments with his family are the best ones.
