What more could Crisis on Infinite Earths possibly have left to either pack in or shock fans with during its five-episode run? Well, how about making DC’s New Gods canon within the wider Arrowverse thanks to a revelation about the crossover’s villain the Anti-Monitor.
Fans have already been treated to the first three parts of this epic five-part crossover which has death and destruction spanning the multiverse which has ultimately left all but a handful of individuals erased from existence at the hands of the villainous Anti-Monitor and his antimatter wave.
However, one of the biggest takeaways from the very end of Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part Three was the reveal of the Anti-Monitor’s true name as he confronted his matter counterpart and nemesis The Monitor and both formally addressed each other as Mar Novu and Mobius.
DC fans would have been enticed by this reveal as Mobius in the comics is a member of the New Gods, native to New Genesis and Apokolips whose ranks also include Darkseid, Orion, Big Barda and Mister Miracle. The character in the comics is the original owner of the Mobius Chair which currently belongs to Metron.
The New Gods were created by Jack Kirby in 1971 and have since appeared in multiple animated movies and TV shows as well as video games. The rise of the New Gods in the DC Extended Universe has been shaky at best with only Steppenwolf making a formal appearance in Justice League despite Darkseid being alluded to multiple times.

A New Gods movie, directed by Ava DuVernay, is currently in development at Warner Bros. with the only plot details thus far are that Granny Goodness will be the main villain and Big Barda and Mister Miracle will appear.
As for the future of the New Gods in the Arrowverse, only time will tell how they are utilized going forward.
Crisis on Infinite Earths wraps up with Parts Four and Five on January 14, 2020, with the first three episodes available to stream now.
