The cast for Warner Bros./New Line Cinema and DC’s Black Adam grows.
News broke out yesterday over at The Hollywood Reporter that Noah Centineo will be joining the Shazam! Spin-off film.
Starring the ever exuberant Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Black Adam will see The Rock taking on his first comic book role. When he was first given out the character on November 14th, 2019.
Tagging along with Johnson is director Jaume Collet-Serra and producer Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo.
Nico Centineo, known for the Netflix heartthrob series To All the Boys I’ve Loved, and it’s sequel; will be playing JSA member Atom Smasher.
We here at FandomWire broke the news exclusively that the Justice Society of America, or JSA for short, will play a very prominent role in the film you can read right here. Centineo’s Atom Smasher is described like this:
“He is super strong and can change his size. Atom Smasher’s strength and density increase proportionately to whatever size he chooses to be. In the comics, he’s worked with Black Adam and fought him – in fact, as strong as Atom Smasher seems – he has been knocked out by just one of Black Adam’s punches.”
Besides this being his first onscreen movie appearance, Atom Smasher has appeared in live-action in the form of the second season opener of The Flash on The CW.
Filming on Black Adam should begin very soon. Johnson’s latest blockbuster, Jungle Cruise, has been one of the many other delayed films hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. Disney has set it’s the newest release date for July 31st, 2021. As for DC’s Black Adam, Warner Bros./New Line has scheduled the antihero movie to December 22nd, 2021.
DC plans on having it be one of their many inaugural pieces for the upcoming DC Fandom event next month.
