There has been a long-standing debate between Marvel and DC fans about which comics and now which cinematic world is better than the other. Podcaster Joe Rogan discusses which one he thinks is better during a conversation with the American artist David Choe. Rogan never hesitates to share his opinion on a variety of topics, one of which is superhero comics and movies.
As fans across the world have their preferences for the two popular superhero franchises, the JRE host has his favorite too. And when he saw what appeared to be a DC fan, Rogan started stating why Marvel is better than DC.
Joe Rogan Prefers Marvel Over DC
Joe Rogan has always clearly stated what sits in his mind. Among many other things, the JRE host is also known for being a comic enthusiast and has shared his interest in both DC and Marvel.
While he does like characters and stories from both, he pointed out why Marvel is better than DC when David Choe claimed that no one used to read Iron Man. As Choe stated that no one liked Iron Man, Rogan said, “I used to read Iron Man.”
While Choe stayed firm on his claim that during his time, most kids used to like Batman, X-Men, and Superman, Rogan added that Iron Man was very popular when he was a kid. He further stated that Hulk and Spider-Man were also very popular.
He said, “Iron Man was very popular. The Hulk was very popular, Spider-Man was very popular,” before adding, “I was a Marvel guy.” He shared that he wasn’t able to get into DC comics, as he didn’t like them and didn’t follow them as much as he did Marvel comics.
Why Joe Rogan Thinks Marvel is Better than DC?
Further discussing why he was not able to connect to DC as much as he did with Marvel, Rogan claimed that he was not able to relate to DC characters as they reminded him of a “World War 2 mentality.” He also talked about how the origin stories for DC characters were like they came from a different planet, probably hinting at Superman, who is from Krypton.
Although when talking about Hulk and Spider-Man, he stated how their stories were much more relatable than DC heroes. “Hulk’s a normal dude, right you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry,” he said. Talking about Spider-Man, he said that people were able to relate to the “nerdy teenager” image of Peter Parker.
