James Gunn’s DCU will begin with the Creature Commandos and Waller shows. But it will be 2025’s Superman: Legacy that will actually usher in the new franchise as Gunn will attempt to build the DC universe from the ground up. However, that might be a tough nut to crack.
Before the co-CEO of DC Studios can focus completely on his projects, he has to bid farewell to the ones already in the pipeline. This includes Blue Beetle, Aquaman 2, and The Flash. But fans aren’t happy with the way Gunn is already handling things and are calling for a total DCU boycott.
The Flash Post-Credits Scene Makes Snyderverse Fans Mad At James Gunn
There’s speculation that the post-credits scene of The Flash must have been changed multiple times. Initially, it was rumored that the post-credits scene would reference Henry Cavill’s Superman and also bring Sasha Calle’s Supergirl as well as Michael Keaton’s Batman into the Snyderverse.
Basically, fans theorized that the film will continue the universe Zack Snyder began with Man of Steel, even if it was through a soft reboot. But over time, the management of Warner Bros. changed when they merged with Discovery. The creation of DC Studios under WBD meant that for James Gunn’s DCU to exist, Snyderverse had to go and what better movie to do that than The Flash?
Apparently, the new post-credit scene of The Flash will do just that. But that’s not the only issue. It seems like the scene will also confirm that Ezra Miller, who has been drowning in controversies, will continue as DCU’s Barry Allen/ Flash. Film scooper @CanWeGetToast tweeted:
#TheFlash’s FINALIZED end credits scene shows Arthur and Barry talking in a bar about Batman, seemingly putting an end to the Snyderverse.
To this @Cult_of_Ember said, “Ezra Remains.” Hinting that the controversial actor (to say the least) could prolong his stay. Here’s the tweet:
Fans are p**sed because, if true, this will mean that no matter what Miller’s actions were, he gets a pass. The situation is extra tense because Jonathan Majors, who was accused of assault, was dropped from films, ads, and his management firm. Adding to this fire are the Snyderverse fans who think Gunn is making a mistake by erasing the world Zack Snyder made.
Fans Think James Gunn Is Making An Error By Keeping Ezra Miller And Erasing Snyderverse
Ezra Miller has been accused of assault, burglary, trespassing, and more. The actor has been absent from any promotional interviews for The Flash. In fact, WBD isn’t even using traditional means of promoting the film. Instead, they are screening the film to fans and mega Hollywood stars, hoping that good word-of-mouth works in their favor.
But it seems like the overall results have been mixed. While Tom Cruise and other stars have sung praises of the movie, other moviegoers have termed it along the lines of being decent and yet enjoyable. The worst side-effect seems to be that the post-credits scenes are getting leaked and fans are p**sed.
Here’s what they are saying:
Many fans think that Ezra Miller’s survival in the DCU depends on how The Flash performs at the box office. Overall, it’s impossible to predict whether Miller will stay or not before the movie releases. As for the Snyderverse, most are in agreement that it’s dead and The Flash will give it a burial.
It remains to be seen what actually is there in the post-credits scene because there’s speculation that WBD is holding back some important scenes for the world premiere.
The Flash will be released on 16 June 2023.
