It is no surprise that Tom Cruise is always surrounded by one rumor or the other. In fact, often such rumors precede him. From his love life to his professional life you may find the weirdest rumors that just don’t seem to end.
As the seventh installment of his blockbuster franchise is supposed to release soon, there have been multiple rumors from the set. In a recent interview, the film’s director Christopher McQuarrie addressed and joked about the most bizarre rumors we might have heard about his time on the set.
Mission: Impossible Director Dispels Strange Rumors About Tom Cruise
Being as famous as Tom Cruise certainly has its own advantages and drawbacks. Despite being one of the greatest stars in Hollywood, the man remains as humble as ever, helping his crew and co-stars whenever needed. That does not mean the star is not strange, for over the years he has said and done certain questionable things that have unleashed a plethora of extremely weird and outlandish rumors about him.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Christopher McQuarrie, the director of the soon-to-be-released film Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One dispelled some storage rumors related to Cruise and the sets of the film. Mcquarrie revealed that he had asked Cruise about the weirdest rumor he had ever heard about himself, and the star replied,
“that people on set were not allowed to look me in the eye.”
McQuarrie then talked about how generous and down-to-earth the star is and is often mixing and talking with the crew. Cruise is often seen to have dance-offs with the crew, suggesting that the War of the Worlds star likes to engage and make sure everyone is having a fun time on the set.
Simon Pegg Says Tom Cruise Is Just A Normal Guy
Co-starring and being with a star as huge as Tom Cruise might make certain people wither in anxiety, but not Simon Pegg. Pegg, who has been part of the Mission: Impossible franchise since Ghost Protocol, also debunked some major rumors about his illustrious co-star.
“I’ve been able to hack my way through all the bizarre mythology that surrounds him. On one side he’s Tom Cruise — this enigmatic film star everyone wants to know about. And on the other, he’s just a guy. I like being normal with him.”
Pegg also spoke up about the leaked audio from the film set in which Cruise can be heard yelling at one of the crew members. The Hot Fuzz star revealed Cruise had gotten agitated at one crew member because they were not following the Covid-19 protocols, since at that time the pandemic was at its peak.
Mission: Impossible- Dead Reckoning Part One is in theatres now.
