Bullying remains a problem in most schools in almost all countries. Insecure children compound their fears into violence and target physically weaker students in forms of aggression that remain with the victim almost all their lives. What is interesting is when the bullied person goes on to become someone popular and respected in life, and the bully has to face off with the person again.
Something like that recently happened with Michael Bakari Jordan, who is an accomplished actor best remembered for his role as Killmonger in the MCU and features in Creed III (2023), which is set to release in March this year. Jordan was apparently bullied by his interviewer, Lore’l, in an interview on the sets of Creed III. What warmed fans’ hearts though was Jordan’s interaction with his bully.
Michael Bakari Jordan draws square with high school bully
Lore’l is best known for hosting Morning Hustle, but her interaction with Michael B Jordan on his upcoming movie threw up an incident from earlier in their lives she would like to forget hastily.
“We go way back, all the way back to Chad Science [Academy] in Newark,” said Lore’l, referring to their time together in high school.
Jordan recognized her right away and reminded her cheerfully that she was actually wont to call him a “corny kid” back in high school, presumably not in good humor.
“Oh yeah, I was the corny kid, right?” said Jordan, to which Lore’l hastily said that she was ‘misquoted’. “No you (Jordan) did not hear me say that! I said we used to make fun of the name,” she added.
She hastily changed the subject of the conversation by saying Jordan was ‘killing it’ in the industry now, even as Jordan smilingly kept insisting he remembered correctly about her calling him a ‘corny kid’ She ended the interaction by saying that he’s not ‘corny anymore’. What was gladdening to see was how Jordan kept a cheery face on at all times in the interaction with his bully.
Creed III promises to bring the best out of both Michael B Jordan and Jonathan Majors
Lore’l’s interview was focused at Jordan’s experience in directing and starring in Creed III, and how different it is from all his other projects. The movie also features Jonathan Majors, who has recently been in the news for playing the role of Kang the Conqueror and his variants in the MCU, most recently in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) and Loki S1 (2021). When Lore’l asked Majors who was the hotter among the two of him and Jordan, Majors did not hesitate to say smilingly that it was Jordan.
Creed III promises to be a great watch for followers of the franchise, as it follows Adonis Creed (Jordan) at the zenith of his boxing career, balancing work and family well. An old old friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian, played by Majors, emerges after he is released from jail, and the two face off to prove that Damian still has it in him to be the best in the ring.
When Jordan was asked about a future project with Will Smith, he said that they were still only working on it.
