Cillian Murphy is stealing attention due to his new project, Oppenheimer which was the talk of the town for quite a while. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film is starring an ensemble cast including Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, and Emily Blunt among several others. While the film has brought out a whole new version of their skills, it is also pushing the former to appear in interviews which he’s not much of a fan of.
For the unversed, actor, Dave Bautista has a tattoo of a young man which is inspired by Cillian Murphy‘s Tommy Shelby character from Peaky Blinders. Along with the portrait, it also features “Gentleman Hooligan” words. In a GQ interview, he mentioned that the image caught his attention due to his background who decided to go ahead with it. To avoid a striking resemblance with the latter, he asked the artist to alter the image.
“But I found this cool picture and it was of Cillian Murphy from ‘Peaky Blinders,’” he continued. “I asked John [tattoo artist] to alter it so it didn’t look so much like Cillian Murphy. And I got it and I thought okay that doesn’t look exactly like I have a tattoo of Cillian Murphy on my thigh.”
Though when the result came out, he somehow convinced himself that the art looks nothing like the Dunkirk actor. However, when he shared the tattoo on social media, fans easily recognized its similarity to Murphy. While he was embarrassed by it, he was not ashamed as he is a fan of the actor. Now, this has eventually gone to the latter’s ears who expect to have an awkward chat with the former.
Cillian Murphy Addressed Dave Bautista’s Thigh Tattoo
In a video interview, the Oppenheimer actor was asked about Bautista’s thigh tattoo which has his face. He acknowledged stating he is aware of it and witnessed it on social media after his kids showed it to him.
The interviewer briefed him about how the MCU star ended up with his face on his thigh which he never intended to, but he expressed his interest in meeting the Tommy Shelby star. To which, the Irish actor replied,
“Oh, well, that would be a lovely, interesting awkward chat, I imagine.”
From the looks of it, it would likely be a great conversation between two of the amazing actors in Hollywood. As for Murphy, he can be seen in his latest work, Oppenheimer which is available in theatres.
