Christopher Nolan’s direction has been on the receiving end of immense critical acclamation and dazzling accolades on more than one occasion. From 2008’s blockbuster superhero film The Dark Knight starring Chrisitan Bale to the Academy Award-winning science fiction titled Inception, Nolan has helmed some of the finest masterpieces in the 21st-century film industry.

While Tenet might or might not have made it to Nolan’s list of prized possessions, the Robert Pattinson-led film was still decently successful and refreshingly intriguing given how it was the first Hollywood hotshot to hit the silver screen during the pandemic. After all, Nolan literally blew up a real Boeing 747 in the movie. That certainly amounts to something.

And Pattinson seemed to have the time of his life behind the scenes too, with what, secretly fleeing the set to audition for The Batman and being caged in a room while reading the movie’s script and whatnot. Doesn’t that sound like the epitome of fun?

This is How Robert Pattinson Read the Script for Tenet

Speaking to USA Today, Pattinson, 36, revealed how he’d been shut inside a room to read the sci-fi/action movie’s script. While he wasn’t granted permission to take the script home either, he did, at the time, describe the content to be absolutely “unreal,” in a great way of course.

It’s imperative to note that this was a delicate time for films to make it to the theatres with the terror of COVID still looming over the world as threatening as ever. So even a single wrong move on the crew’s part could easily lead them to bear heavy losses. Not to mention, Tenet was still in the stages of early production during that time so it makes sense why the Dunkirk director was so cautious and fastidious down to the very last detail.

Talking about working with Nolan, the Twilight star further added how to him, the British-American filmmaker seems to be the only director with a vision to make a film that is “essentially a very personal, independent” project with a “huge scale.”

“I’ve been a little wary of doing big movies for years and years, but there’s just something about Chris Nolan’s stuff. He seems like the only director now who can do what is essentially a very personal, independent movie that has huge scale. I read the script and it’s unreal”

If you’ve seen the movie, then you’re likely to agree with the “unreal” part.

How Did Tenet Do At the Box Office?

Directed by Christopher Nolan and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, Tenet (2020) earned a sum of $365 million at the global box office on a budget of $205 million. As per a report by Variety, the sci-fi film starring Elizabeth Debicki and Robert Pattinson put a solid dent in WB’s profits amounting to $50 million upon its theatrical release. However, it is by no means a box office bomb, considering how it also ended up becoming the fifth-highest-grossing movie of 2020.
