Movie stars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are among some of the most celebrated names in Hollywood. The two are known not only for their talent and incredible work in the film industry but also well known for their friendship. The School Ties co-stars have been good friends since their childhood and have been there for each other throughout their journey to stardom.
However, as a report came out claiming that the Jason Bourne star has replaced his best friend with the Marvel star Chris Hemsworth, the Batman actor decided to side with his best friend’s long-time rival Jimmy Kimmel.
Ben Affleck Reacts to Matt Damon Replacing Him
Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel have been involved in an ongoing feud that started almost two decades ago. The rivalry between the two started after the talk show host took a hit at the 52-year-old actor on his show. During the promotion of his recent film, Air, Ben Affleck joined Kimmel on his late-night talk show and tried to bring the years-long feud to an end.
However, after the Justice League star’s separation from actress Jennifer Garner, reports came out claiming that Damon is trying to cut strings with Affleck due to the controversial nature of Affleck’s divorce. The reports suggested that The Martian star and his wife are getting close to Chris Hemsworth and his wife.
Replying to the story on Twitter, Affleck told the Spiderhead star that he can have Matt Damon, as he’s on team Jimmy Kimmel now. “Hey @chrishemsworth, you can have him! I’m Team @JimmyKimmel anyways,” Affleck said in his tweet in which he sides with the Good Will Hunting star’s rival, Jimmy Kimmel.
Although the Thor star is a good friend of Damon, the rumors about him replacing Affleck were debunked later. However, the conversation started by The Town star’s tweet was nothing less than a treat for Marvel and DC fans.
Chris Hemsworth Takes a Dig at Marvel And DC Rivalry
Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon are great friends. The Marvel actor’s wife and model, Elsa Pataky, shared that they met through mutual friends, and both families have been pretty close since. Matt Damon even had a cameo in the 2017 Marvel film Thor: Ragnarok alongside his friend and fellow actor, Chris Hemsworth.
And the Extraction star gave a different turn to the conversation about him replacing Ben Affleck as the Interstellar star’s best friend. He replied to the Dawn of Justice star’s tweet, saying that it’s not his fault, as Damon likes Marvel more than DC Comics.
Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel also joined the conversation as he sided with Batman, saying that he’s team Batman, with the #iwilltakeeveryoneyoulove for his rival Matt Damon. “Wow. Another big win for #TeamBatman! Sorry, Matt, I’m sure this is a Thor subject,” Kimmel replied.
It continued with another tweet from the Thor actor joking about skipping on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the promotion of his Marvel film. Matt Damon was not able to join the online banter among his friends and rival, as he does not use Twitter.
