Jennifer Lawrence is fearless, bold, and wickedly witty. Her bold and often impromptu replies are famous in the world of social media, often drawing the fury or the favor of fans and non-fans alike. This time too, her witty reply against ageism in Hollywood has attracted attention, with many of her fans outpouring support for her.
Jennifer Lawrence earned instant success and global stardom ever since she starred as Katniss Everdeen in the popular franchise Hunger Games. With its prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes coming out soon, Lawrence has been asked numerous annoying ageist questions, to which she finally hit back at one of her recent interviews.
Jennifer Lawrence Hits Back At Question On Her Return In Hunger Games Prequel
Ever since the Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was announced, there have been theories flying around that Jennifer Lawrence would appear as Katniss’ Grandma. However, the Silver Linings Playbook actress finally hit back at all the trolls and ageist comments. When asked in an interview, whether she would be back in the prequel as Katniss’ Grandma, Lawrence replied,
“Oh, ’cause I’m 49 in Hollywood years, huh?…No, that’s not true.”
In a separate interview, Lawrence mentioned how she feels too old to know that a 21-year-old actor would essentially be replacing her, recalling how she was the same age when she was first cast. Even though we might never have Lawrence back as Katniss Everdeen, it would have been great to see her in the Hunger Games universe once again.
Fans React To Jennifer Lawrence Being In The Hunger Games Prequel
Jennifer Lawrence is a charismatic actress with millions of followers. As bold as the actress is, her fans are equally so if not more. So when the Passengers actress was asked whether she would be cast as Katniss’ Grandma, which seems like a pretty ageist question, fans were quick to point out how unfair such questions are and called her a ‘superwoman’ for her witty reply.
The prequel, based on the book of the same name, would focus on the story of the Hunger Games‘ main antagonist Coriolanus Snow. Concentrated on the young Snow, it would show how he went on to become the tyrannical and evil President of Panem.
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes would release on November 17, 2023.
