"Can you imagine how angry that guy would be": 80-year-old Harrison Ford Will Not be a Happy Man Filming as Marvel's 'Red Hulk'

After saying goodbye to his longstanding role as a daring treasure hunter, Harrison Ford took on the challenge of entering the mad world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor will be appearing as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, taking over the role from William Hurt after his sad demise the previous year in the new 2024 Captain America movie, Captain America: Brave New World.

Given the backstory of Ford’s character in the comic books, fanatics anticipate he is most likely to turn into the Red Hulk, General Ross’ anti-hero alter ego this time around. But turns out, that the Indiana Jones actor had no clue what the blabber was all about when asked about the rumor of him terrorizing the heroes in the upcoming Marvel flick. In his latest chat with ComicBook.com, while promoting Dial of Destiny, the actor left quite a confusing answer. While his new Marvel co-star, David Harbour is quite intrigued to witness how it all turns out just like the rest.

Will Harrison Ford Turn Into the Red Hulk in Captain America 4?

There is no way of knowing if Harrison Ford will finally be turning into the much-anticipated Red Hulk in the 2024 movie, Captain America: Brave New World, since everybody involved in the project is tight-lipped, to make sure nothing gets out. Thus even a vague confirmation will also turn people crazy. Ross’s upcoming return to the MCU is set to bring him into the position of President of the United States, giving him more sway and power than ever before in his previous appearances. Now, that Tim Blake Nelson will be in his full form as the main villain of the upcoming movie, people are only speculating that will make Ross even more power-hungry, leading to THE transformation.

During the promotion of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, in response to ComicBook.com’s question, Ford seemed a bit confused regarding the fuss around his appearance in the MCU, which compelled him to ask, “What is the Red Hulk?” He then further blamed his Indy co-star, Phoebe Waller-Bridge for keeping him uninformed on the subject matter. He then moved on to somewhat make a statement on the Red Hulk’s recent future stating,

“it may or it may not”

Meaning, the actor cannot quite promise the fans to fully expect to see him turn into the Red Hulk. Although a photo of him in ripped jeans, circulating has fans hopeful for the character’s future prospects. His appearance in The Playlist podcast has also kept fans hopeful since his laughter and signing “zipped-lips” upon being asked ‘the’ question was enough to tease that something exciting is surely going to happen. At least for now, Ford seems to avoid any such sensitive topic altogether.

David Harbour on Harrison Ford Turning Into the Red Hulk

Turns out, the Stranger Things mega star, as well as Harrison Ford’s co-star in the Thunderbolt, David Harbour is also quite excited to finally witness the Red Hulk. He recently stated how tickled he is by the thought of Ford turning into the Red Hulk. The business of superheroes is a serious one, however, once someone witnesses the process of filming, they might not think so anymore. The use of high-tech methods such as CGI and modern technologies have made the process much easier and less uncomfortable for actors, yet the end product before digital editing can be quite amusing to those viewing it. Thus adding to that, Harbour stated,

“I mean, can you imagine how angry that guy would be in a green suit with ping pong balls all over it, just standing there, ‘Ah, ****.'”

But keeping all the jokes aside, he also confessed, “lucky enough to experience that”, and promised to “savor it”, when the movie finally comes out. For now, nothing can be confirmed, with the majority of plot details kept as a well-hidden secret, and multiple major villains already in the picture, this next appearance could be the start of Ross’ transformation into the Hulk, which might bring to life even greater events during Phase 5.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to come out in theaters on July 26, 2024, Ford will also be reprising his role in Thunderbolts, coming out on December 20, 2024.
