Although Game of Thrones as a show went a little off track in its last season, it didn’t impact Emilia Clarke’s rise to the top, who initially found her footing through the role of Daenerys Targaryen. Throughout her journey playing the character, the actress soon became a fan-favorite among Game of Thrones fans, including some substantial Hollywood figures.
It’s a known fact that both Channing Tatum and his wife are huge fans of the HBO show and have been pretty vocal about their perspective toward certain aspects of it. And after Clarke came across the duo back in 2015, she couldn’t resist the chemistry between Tatum and his wife.
Channing Tatum’s chemistry with his wife was too much for Emilia Clarke to resist
Being huge fans of the show, Tatum and his wife Jenna Dewan revealed to Emilia Clarke that they called themselves “moon of my life” and “my sun and stars” after Clarke came across them at Golden Globes. These were the names that Clarke’s Khaleesi and her beloved Dothraki husband, Khal Drogo, called each other in the show, and this chemistry between Tatum and his wife was too much to resist for Clarke. Reflecting on the moment, the Me Before You star recalled that she responded to them by asking if they can get intimate together. She recalled,
“Someone took a fantasy in my head and played it in real life. I was at a Golden Globes after-party and Channing f**cking Tatum came up to me, and his stunning missus, Jenna. And they said, ‘We call each other ‘moon of my life’ and ‘my sun and stars’ and all that.’ And I was like, ‘I cannot contain this. Please, can we all have something s*xual together? You’re both beautiful, even just a hug.'”
It’s one of the few instances showcasing how big of a fan the 21 Jump Street star is of the Emilia Clarke-led show, but like many fans, he also had some serious complaints against Game of Thrones.
Channing Tatum was left disappointed after the death of this character in Game of Thrones
Although during its run, Game of Thrones maintained its quality for the most part, some of the decisions from its creators left a sour taste in the fans’ mouths. And for Channing Tatum, one of these instances occurred after the showrunners decided to kill off Jason Momoa’s Khal Drogo, as Tatum believed it was a terrible decision and made the show worse. Tatum explained,
“I was pissed when he died! I wanted to see him lead the army and do the whole thing,”
The Killing of major characters has been a problem with shows like Game of Thrones and TWD, and Jason Momoa’s removal sure did end up pushing Tatum away from GOT.
Game of Thrones is available to stream on Max.
