'Can Netflix make a Black Adam cinematic universe?': Fans Implore James Gunn Let WB License Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam to Netflix for The Rock's Own Superhero Universe

DC has gone through many ups and downs, especially after the change in leadership, the franchise and its fans have been quite volatile. Many urge WBD and DCEU to retain some elements of Snyderverse while some want Netflix to buy the Snyderverse and give Zack Snyder the opportunity to complete the story arcs which began with Justice League.

James Gunn and Safran were slandered my the fans after they dropped the beloved Henry Cavill and superman and canceled Wonder Woman 3, Gunn and his team also received backlash after they announced Doom Patrol and Titans’ last season. Twitter continues to demand the return of Zack Snyder but none of these uproars have helped in any way. Gunn and his team continue to work towards their ten-year vision for the DCEU, as a result of which many and internally accepted the fate of DC.

Dwayne Johnsons’ multiyear plan for Black Adam Cinematic Universe

The Rock in Black Adam

The movement got a push in another direction when The Rock talked about Back Adam’s future in WBD. The CNBC reporter asked Johnson about his pitch “a multiyear plan for Black Adam” that apparently “ruffled feathers internally.” to which Dwayne Johnson very calmly replied

“You know, I gotta tell you Morgan and David, one of the hardest things that I’ve had to do – and it’s one of the greater disciplines that we have to practice when we’re in this position – is you want to be careful how much you get pulled into the sludge of media reporting.”

He continues,

“Now, that’s not an overall criticism. but you do want to be careful about it. So it was very difficult – wait, let me rephrase that – it was challenging to exercise that kind of discipline. Just to let these reports come out,”

No doubt media attention can be challenging, one needs a lot of patience to deal with rumors and wait for the truth to release. The Rock’s Black Adam was not received well by the audience or the critics. It was a special film because it introduced the actor as one of DC’s superhero. Unfortunately after the failure of the film DC canceled Black Adam’s  sequel.

“That is simply not true. I had a great meeting with David Zaslav, myself and my longtime business partner Dany Garcia. Her and myself went in, we sat with David, and we did not pitch a ten-year plan at all. What our meeting was the future and how can we build across the entire platform of Warner bros. and Discovery.”

After this statement, fans rallied on Twitter for Netflix to let Dwayne Johnson create a Black Adam Universe because it seems highly unlikely that DCEU will go ahead with the sequel. Some also pointed out that The Rock was sad when explaining the situation, so probably the meeting was not a success. Snyderverse fans have not stopped talking about #SellZSJLtoNetflix.

Fans Rally to create a Black Adam Cinematic Universe

DC continues to surround itself in controversies and Fans somehow always find a new hashtag to rally together. This time it is #SellSnyderverseToNetflix, as outrageous as it sounds the movement has some merit. James Gunn and Safran have face immense backlash over these past months due to their decisions about DCEU. Fans clearly want to retain the Snyderverse. Some feel the best way to do it is if Netflix buys the Snyderverse and continues to make movies around it.

In many interviews The Rock has expressed his intention of bringing Black Adam to screen with complete diligence and sincerity. He said that along with Jaume Collet-Serra and team everyone is working hard to bring the legend to life. Black Adam was planned to become one of the Anti-heros of DC universe. Now that the sequel is canceled and does not follow Gunn’s vision for DC many want Black Adam to have it’s own Cinematic Universe at Netflix.
