The number of celebrities whose n*des have leaked online is innumerable. However, no one ever imagined that Chris Evans would one day find himself on that list. The Marvel star accidentally leaked his own pictures in 2020 and caused a furor on the internet.
Luckily, his MCU pal Mark Ruffalo came to his defense with a hilarious tweet that garnered upwards of 300K likes. But the entire situation made many reflect on the way Hollywood treated its actors and actresses differently.
Mark Ruffalo Supported Chris Evans After His N*des Leaked
In 2020, Chris Evans posted an Instagram video featuring a game of Heads Up. However, in the process of doing so, he accidentally showed his camera roll. There was a photo of his p*nis as well as a meme with the phrase ‘Guard. That. P*ssy.’ written on the Captain America actor’s face. So the actor had inadvertently leaked his own n*des. The star immediately deleted those pics, but the damage was done.

As soon as people realized what had happened, they rushed to either see the pics or condemn those who were spreading the NSFW pics of the Ghosted actor. Mark Ruffalo, who plays Hulk in the MCU, stepped in to offer Evans condolences for the mistake. He tagged his Marvel co-star in a tweet that said, “Bro, while Trump is in office there is NOTHING you could possibly do to embarrass yourself. See… silver lining.”
Here’s the slightly trolling tweet:
However, Chris Evans didn’t have to bear much public humiliation since his fans came to his defense. While many didn’t lose the chance to enjoy some NSFW jokes at the star’s disposal, others buried those pics by spamming hashtags and mass-reported accounts that shared the pics.
Why Did The Internet’s Reaction To Chris Evans’ N*des Surprise Everyone?
The swiftness with which many people acted on Twitter to bury Chris Evans’ accidentally self-leaked n*des was astonishing and remarkable to witness. Accounts began commenting that the Defending Jacob star was a sweet guy who had crippling anxiety and so he shouldn’t have to suffer public humiliation for one mistake.
These accounts had, within a matter of hours, successfully buried both the pics leaked by Evans underneath wholesome image spam of the actor. While many praised the efforts of the fans and general internet users to save the dignity of the actor as it was an honest mistake, others took a more critical approach. Many questioned why such a mass coordinated image-cleaning event was done only for a male actor.
Previously, plenty of female actors and models’ n*des have been leaked without their consent by others and they often received negligible levels of fan support combined. Instead, they got heaped with derision along with a healthy dose of s*ut shaming. As such, many asked- are the double standards between actors and actresses created by Hollywood and upheld by fans? The answer will probably never be clear.
