Brie Larson, who portrayed the role of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in the MCU, was recently seen in Fast X, portraying the role of Tess, Mr. Nobody’s daughter in the franchise. The actress had been practically begging to be a part of the franchise for quite some time.
Brie Larson admitted that she wanted to be a part of the Fast family very badly. Following the casting call, the actress claimed that she was jumping and screaming. During a moment of self-doubt, however, she became anxious about whether she was worthy of the role or not!
Was Brie Larson Worthy of Her Role In Fast X?
Talking about joining Vin Diesel along for a ride, Brie Larson was quite excited to join the Fast Family. Long before she was cast in the role of Tess, the actress had already stated numerous times that it would be an honor for her if she could join the Fast & Furious franchise.
At the red carpet premiere in Rome of Fast X, the actress recalled the moment she received the phone call about being cast in the role of Tess. Brie Larson commented that as soon as she received the news, she was dancing and screaming. However, her excitement quickly turned into fear as she wondered whether she was truly worthy of the role or not!
“When I got the phone call, I was dancing and screaming. I’ve been begging for years to be in these movies because I love them so much. But then I had this quiet moment where I was like, ‘I don’t know if I can do this. I don’t know if I’m worthy of this. Can I do anything that would honor this heritage and legacy and create something that’s meaningful and also additive to this?’”
This wasn’t all since the fear quickly turned into joy once again as Brie Larson immersed herself into the world of cars and adrenaline-rushing sequences to shoot. The actress further revealed how Vin Diesel invited her to dinner and they had a chat regarding the character of Tess and her relation to Mr. Nobody.
Brie Larson’s Character Was Inspired By Vin Diesel’s Daughter!
Vin Diesel’s youngest daughter Pauline was one of the inspirations for Brie Larson’s character. In the interview, the actress stated that Pauline had a carefree attitude and was sassy, blunt, and funny. Larson further revealed that she based her character of Tess off of Pauline and it worked out pretty great.
“His youngest daughter, Pauline, she was wearing this jacket that said, ‘Good Vibes Only’ and she was in this sassy mood, stomping around, and she’s just smart and blunt and funny. And I was like, ‘Okay, I’m gonna base my character off her.’ So that’s how Tess became who she is.”
With several notable and iconic actors in the mix, Fast X premiered on 19th May 2023 in theaters across the U.S. With mixed reviews, the movie is screening in select theaters around the world as it prepares for an OTT release soon.
