Few stars in Hollywood are as multifaceted as Bradley Cooper. The actor has dabbled in all genres showcasing his acting, singing, and comedic skills. From laugh riots like The Hangover, and emotional dramas like Silver Linings Playbook to directing and starring in an intense romantic musical A Star is Born, Cooper has covered the whole gamut with great success.
Voicing the loud-mouthed intergalactic raccoon Rocket in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series is possibly Bradley Cooper’s most popular gig. The pocket-sized dynamite is a huge fan favorite thanks to Cooper’s facile vocal portrayal of the character. The star was sufficiently rewarded with a 6 million dollar payday for his crossover role as Rocket in Avengers: End Game which was more than what Chris Pratt made as Star Lord for the same movie. With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 set to release this summer, Rocket’s story will be in focus and this time, Bradley Cooper will have company.
Bradley Cooper Will Share Rocket With Two Other Voices
According to director James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will mainly focus on Rocket’s backstory and the events leading up to his current predicament. The film will reportedly combine emotion with humor to give viewers a deeper insight into the dynamic raccoon’s personality. While Bradley Cooper has been the sole voice behind Rocket’s stylish swag, the actor will now share the character with two other voices in this installment.
Jams Gunn in an article confirmed that Bradley Cooper will only play the adolescent and adult versions of Rocket. Since the film will concentrate on the raccoon’s origin story, multiple personifications of the character were required to be created. Noah Raskin will voice baby Rocket while James Gunn’s brother, Sean Gunn, will voice the other younger version of the smallest member of the Guardians. The film will also introduce the audience to new characters like Lylla the Otter, Teefs the Walrus, and Floor the Rabbit.
After The MCU, It’s The Maestro For Bradley Cooper
With his role as the snarky Rocket coming to an end in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, Bradley Cooper is ready with his next directorial, The Maestro, a biographical drama about the life and times of esteemed Broadway composer Leonard Bernstein. Also starring Carey Mulligan who plays Bernstein’s wife, the film is Cooper’s second stint with directing after his critically acclaimed debut in The Star Is Born.
The Maestro which is slated for a 2023 release, is already making waves for the visuals that show Cooper playing Bernstein at various ages including impressive make-up work that nailed the elderly look of the iconic composer. Coincidentally, Steven Spielberg was originally on board to direct a Bernstein biographical drama and recruited Cooper to star in it. The Hangover actor who was coming off A Star Is Born at the time, declined the offer as he was more interested in writing and directing after the success of his musical drama.
