Bradley Cooper’s film is set to premiere at the film festival
The ongoing double strike in Hollywood has been a great concern for the production houses of Hollywood, as many things have been halted due to the strike. Initially, the writer’s strike surfaced in the market, following which actors also stood up for their rights and started the strike. Since the actors have been on strike, many star-studded events have been isolated this year.
The renowned Venice International Film Festival might also face some hurdles this year as many antiparticle movies have turned down participating in the event. Zendaya’s upcoming film, Challengers, will not be part of the event.
However, Venice artistic director Alberto Barbera has managed to bring some top movies to the Lido. Among these is Bradley Cooper’s starring film, Maestro, which will premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
Why did the SAG-AFTRA strike start?
The ongoing double strike in Hollywood is indeed a historic moment. The SAG-AFTRA strike has been supported by many A-list actors who agree with the demands of the union. The actors’ strike started on July 14, 2023, and the union came up with the three-tier demand. The union is fighting for better remuneration, retirement benefits, and job security.
The main fear of the actors’ is the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the market, and they are afraid that AI might replace them. Since, for the first time, the writers and actors have gone on strike simultaneously, this has highly affected the industry. Many anticipated shows have been put on hold amidst the strike.
