Brad Pitt is one of the most respected and talented actors in the film industry. Having starred in some of the most massive and influential films of all time, with Fight Club, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Inglourious Basterds being excellent examples, he has made a name for himself through his dedication and versatility as an actor. He has been awarded for this skill time and time again, including being nominated for an Acadamy Award five times and winning the same twice, for his work in the films 12 Years a Slave and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
Being as successful as Pitt is, being one of the first actors many think of when they picture Hollywood, it is quite surprising to find out that the Oscar-winning actor was featured as an extra playing a waiter in a low-budget film at the start of his career.
Brad Pitt Played As An Extra A Number Of Times
When actors start their careers in Hollywood, they do not get immediately cast into big-budget productions as the lead, having to start off with smaller, inconsequential, and menial roles. This is perhaps, that one thing that almost all A-list actors have gone through, having to play a small role as an extra who does not speak just to make ends meet.
The now Oscar-winning actor, Brad Pitt was no different in this, having starred as an extra in many films, having starred in four different films as a character in the background in 1987. The films in question were Hunk, No Way Out, Less Than Zero, and No Man’s Land. It was that latter film that caught the attention of many.
Brad Pitt Starred As A Waiter In No Man’s Land
No Man’s Land was a small-scale 1987 crime film that stars Charlie Sheen, best known for his work in Two and a Half Men. Sheen plays an arrogant playboy, who in reality is a criminal mastermind. The film had a budget of $2.9 million, which is incredibly less compared to the amount of money that is put into films. Being such a seemingly unknown film, why did audiences and the media have a sudden peak in interest in it?
The reason for this is the fact that Brad Pitt appears in this film as an extra for multiple shots as a waiter with a very 80s haircut. The actor shows up for a couple of frames and though he does not say anything, he does appear at the very front of the camera for a couple of seconds, making the people watching the films years later take a double take on who they just saw in a sub-par film like this.
