Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt both made their entrance into Hollywood around the same time and had careers that followed similar trajectories. Pitt recently starred in Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood for which he won an Oscar. Cruise on the other hand appeared in Top Gun: Maverick which broke the record for the top-selling digital release of all time as well as many other records.
The two A-list stars debuted around the same time on the big screen and have experienced the heights of fame. The two actors starred together in the 1994 movie Interview with a Vampire and it appears that they were butting heads on set. The Babylon star was unable to mix well with Cruise and even went on to say that they were like the North and South Poles. With both of them having risen through the ranks together, there is certainly rivalry to be expected.

After Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt starred together in Interview with a Vampire, which was a wide success, having a budget of $60 million and earning close to $224 million. So it is surprising to that the two stars were at odds with each other during filming. Pitt explained that by the end of filming, he resented Cruise. He also stated that he was miserable during filming.

It also appears that they have had to compete with each for many roles throughout their careers and this has caused them to steer clear of each other. This bad blood between the two seems to have not been resolved and is present in recent times as well.
Tom Cruise is Unhappy as Brad Pitt Gets Cast in New F1 Project
Brad Pitt has recently been cast as the protagonist in a forthcoming sports movie which is being backed by Lewis Hamilton. The movie is about an F1 driver who comes out of retirement to mentor an up-and-coming driver. This is something that has made Tom Cruise unhappy.
““I can imagine Tom’s nose might be a bit out of joint over this,” the insider said.
This movie requires the actor to go through extensive training to play an F1 driver. Cruise has learned and done many extreme things like learning how to fly planes and even how to scale one for Mission: Impossible- Rouge Nation. This is why it is believed that Pitt is stepping on his turf a little. The inside source also believes this has ruffled a few feathers for Cruise. They also mentioned that Pitt’s friends are also aware of this feud and go out of their way to avoid Cruse at social events.
