Boruto Chapter 81 is right around the corner. The fans are excited to get a hold of it. Boruto Chapter 80 was released almost four months ago. People have been waiting for a long time to see what happened after the time skip. A few pages have been leaked online from the upcoming chapter.
The leaks showed that Shikamaru Nara is the 8th Hokage. Fans have mixed feelings about Shikamaru being the successor of Naruto Uzumaki. No doubt Shikamaru is a genius, but they feel like other candidates could take the role of the new Hokage and do a better job than him.
Here are 6 Shinobi who would’ve been a better 8th Hokage after Naruto than Shikamaru.
6. Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi Hatake was the 6th Hokage and is quite capable of taking up his position again after Naruto. It has happened previously when the Third Hokage took his role again after Fourth Hokage’s death. Even though Kakashi is old and lost his Sharingan in Boruto, he still is a glorified shinobi. Kakashi is a great strategist and has tons of ninjutsu at his disposal. He can do all releases and has even worked as an Anbu. His father was known as the White Fang of the Leaf.
5. Mirai Sarutobi
Mirai Sarutobi is the daughter of Asuma Sarutobi and Kurenai Yuhi. She is seldom mentioned in the Boruto manga, but she is a strong kunoichi. Mirai Sarutobi can use both ninjutsu releases of her parents. Before time skip, she was a powerful Chunin who trained Team Kohomaru. She has even worked as the 6th Hokage’s bodyguard more than once.
4. Sakura Haruna
Sakura Haruno is one of the strongest characters in the Naruto-verse. She is mostly seen as a housewife in Boruto, but she is an excellent medical kunoichi. Sakura was taught by Lady Tsunade, one of the Legendary Sannin. She has surpassed Tsunade and has unlocked the One Hundred Healings Mark. Moreover, her immense physical prowess can send shivers down Nanadaime’s spine. Just like Lady Tsunade, she can summon Lady Katsuyu.
3. Konohamaru Sarutobi
Konohamaru Sarutobi is the grandson of the third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi. Asuma Sarutobi is his uncle. Konohamaru considered Naruto Uzumaki to be his big brother and idolized him. It was Naruto who taught him the powerful Rasengan, S*xy Jutsu, and the Summoning Jutsu. In Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, he has become quite powerful and was the leader of Team 7. Just like Naruto, Konohamaru also aimed to become Hokage one day. His decision-making prowess at difficult times and numerous ninjutsu at his disposal is unmatched.

2. Orochimaru
Orochimaru was a devious villain in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. But during the 4th Great Ninja War, he switched to the good side. Since then, he has been helping the Leaf Village secretly. Orochimaru is one of the Legendary Sannin and was once deemed to be the Fourth Hokage. By experimenting with different releases, he has mastered every one of them. He is also very intelligent and can also use Summoning jutsu. Orochimaru was trained by the Third Hokage and has battled Lady Tsunade and Jiraiya alone. Orochimaru is the father of Mitsuki.
1. Sasuka Uchiha
Known as the Shadow Hokage, Sasuke Uchiha is the only shinobi in Boruto who is on par with Naruto Uzumaki. Naruto considered him to be his best friend as well as his greatest rival. Sasuke belonged to the Sharingan possessing Uchiha clan and was the brother of Itachi Uchiha. He was the Ninja Academy topper. Sasuke was trained by Kakashi and later by Orochimaru. Sasuke can do both, Fire-style ninjutsu and Lightning-style ninjutsu, along with Susano’o and teleportation. He possessed the all-powerful Rinnegan until it was destroyed. There are almost next to no better candidates for being the 8th Hokage other than Sasuke Uchiha.
